Man United cleared to complete £60m transfer - Report

Manchester United have been cleared to sign Juventus left-back Alex Sandro, as Chelsea pull out of the race, according to The Metro. Apparently, Antonio Conte has baulked at Juve’s £60million asking price for the Brazilian, leaving Jose Mourinho as the frontrunner to land the 26-year-old’s signature.

As a left-back, Sandro is up there amongst the best in Europe when he’s on top of his game, and it would be a sensational piece of business.

Unfortunately, £50-60million is now the going rate if you want to sign a top-class defender, and, let’s be honest, Manchester United have plenty of money so they should do all they can to get this deal done.

Left-back has been a problem area for the Red Devils over the last few years, and I think it’s fair to say they’ve not had a regular left-sided full-back since Patrice Evra left the club.
