Mourinho confirms deal for Belgian agreed after meeting with president

Jose Mourinho was impressed with Mile Svilar during Manchester United’s Champions League games with Benfica and has told the Portuguese club that he is keeping an eye on the young goalkeeper, according to Metro.

Speaking after United’s win in Lisbon last month, Mourinho praised Svilar despite his costly error. ‘He has some qualities, that’s not it, he is a phenomenon, he is amazing,’ said the United manager.

Svilar was signed by Benfica from Anderlecht in the summer and was handed the No.1 shirt.

United already have a positive relationship with Benfica after paying £31 million to sign Victor Lindelof in July.
