Confirmed! Chelsea complete first January signing

Another of Chelsea’s glorious crop of English youth players has signed a new deal at the club. Last week saw Callum Hudson-Odoi celebrate his starring role in the England U17 World Cup winning team from India when he signed his first professional terms, and now Dujon Sterling is joining him by signing a deal until 2022.

The right sided player is one of the youngsters who has actually made a senior appearance for Chelsea, coming on for Davide Zappacosta in the EFL Cup game against Nottingham Forest.

Even better news for Sterling is that he’s just travelled with the squad to Azerbaijan for the game against Qarabag, showing his increasing role in the squad as the fourth choice right back. A few more impressive appearances could see him trusted enough to replace Cesar Azpilicueta as third choice behind Victor Moses and Davide Zappacosta.
