Chelsea on verge of agreeing £62.3m deal for Italian Goal machine

Spanish publication El Gol are reporting that Chelsea have already tabled a €70m (£62.3m) bid for Torino striker Andrea Belotti. Real Madrid are said to be interested in the Italian international as they seek to strengthen their front line in the January transfer window, but the Blues have reportedly made the first move for the 23 year old with an opening bid in view to a January transfer.

It hasn't even been a year since Torino last extended Belotti's stay at the club, but Italian newspaper Tuttosport (h/t Calciomercato.com) reported he's set to be rewarded with a wage increase.

It's said Belotti's salary will be increased to €2.5 million (£2.2 million) per year, while it's to be expected that Torino will either look to retain or even increase his current €100 million (£88 million) release clause.

The Torino’s forward’s form has taken a dip this season after excelling last campaign where he finished with 26 league goals. He has not scored since late September, but he has only returned for the last three league games after being sidelined with a knee injury.
