Wonder Deal! Man Utd to steal PSG star for €34 million in January

Manchester United are hot on the heels of Belgian right-back Thomas Meunier, according to the Sun. The 26-year-old has lost his place at Paris Saint-Germain to Dani Alves this season and is contemplating his future after saying he feels like "a second option" for manager Unai Emery, reports ESPN.

While Valencia is a Mourinho favourite, the reports suggest that he is looking for an alternative, a plan B as he prepares for what is sure to be a tough, congested run-in at the end of the season - the idea, of course, being that United will be competitive in all the competitions they are in at the time.

Meunier will be an excellent addition to the United squad, and PSG may be amenable to selling him for as 'low' a fee as €34 million (a steal considering the inflated market we inhabit) considering that UEFA's FFP rules are currently hounding them.

Whether Meunier is willing to sacrifice potential European action (he will, of course, be cup-tied if he makes an appearance for PSG in the Champions League sometime later this month/November) is, of course, a question only the Belgian can answer
