Spanish Attacker gives major hint about Man Utd Transfer

Juan Mata's recent blog post has caused confusion and panic aplenty among Manchester United fans. The Manchester United No.8 writes a weekly blog and at the bottom in this week's edition, praised Angel Gomes for being part of the England Under 17 side that completed a wonderful few months for England youth sides by winning the World Cup following a thrilling 5-2 win over Spain.

Here is his post:

The fact that Gomes has not yet signed a professional contract saw many United fans start to worry that he would soon be leaving the club, but it was all a misunderstanding.

Mata's blog was soon edited, and changed to the following:

"In particular to my team-mate Angel Gomes, who made his debut against Crystal Palace in the final game of the last Premier League season. He’s part of a great generation of players that can bring more success in the future."

The Spanish version of the blog post (Mata offers them in both English and Spanish) had the above included from the start, so it was clearly a translation issue that gave supporters a mini-heart-attack. Gomes is considered one of the brightest academy talents ever seen at Man Utd and one of the more exciting players of his generation, so it will be interesting to see when he signs professional terms with the club.
