Sky Sports confirm Chelsea Deal for Aguero

Chelsea have "serious and strong interest" in signing Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, according to Sky sources. The Blues will try to sign a striker this summer to replace Diego Costa, who has been told he is not in Antonio Conte's plans for next season, reports Sky Sports.

Chelsea appear willing to test City's resolve, especially with the Blues still in the hunt for £80million-rated Alexis Sanchez, despite repeated assurances from Pep Guardiola and the City hierarchy.

City have consistently refused to put a price on Aguero's head, simply saying he is not available at ANY price. That did look questionable six months ago when Aguero was dropped and, unusually, twice stopped to talk to reporters and suggest he was unsure of his future .

But after a strong finish to the season, scoring 15 goals in his last 17 games, both he and City made it plain he was going nowhere. After he scored twice on the last day of the season, in a 5-0 mauling of Watford, he told reporters he was staying, shortly after manager Pep Guardiola had made it plain.

If that was not enough, chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak issued an unequivocal statement about the player's future at the end of May.
