Man Utd on verge of agreeing €18m deal with Juventus for Italian Superstar

Matteo Darmian struggled to get game time under the Red Devils boss last season. Darmian, 27, started just 15 Premier League games, making a further three appearances as a substitute. And according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Mourinho is keen to cash in on the former Torino man, reports Sport Witness.

He claims the the Special One wants to axe Darmian and is determined to let him go. The defender has been linked with an Old Trafford exit, with Juventus and Inter Milan said to be keen on Darmian. Mourinho is desperate to splash the cash this summer with Champions League football returning next season.

One of Darmian's major concerns is apparently his lack of playing time at United, which could jeopardize his chances of making the Italy squad for the 2018 World Cup. And Di Marzio reckons the club are now determined to let him go.  This will come as a boost for Juventus, who have been heavily linked with a move for him.

Max Allegri's side would keen to sign him on loan with a view to a permanent £17.5million deal. Darmian is contracted to United until the summer of 2019.
