Man Utd Make Swap Deal to land World Cup winner

United want the Germany international as part of any deal to send De Gea to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, per John Richardson of the Sunday Mirror. Richardson says the demand for Kroos is United boss and former Real manager Jose Mourinho's way of retaliating against Los Blancos renewing their interest in De Gea, reports Bleacher Report.

Real president Florentino Perez has regarded Kroos as 'untouchable', however Diario Gol says his stand is softening given the explosion of prices paid during this summer's transfer market.

An offer of €70 million, tabled by Juventus, for Kroos has been immediately thrown out by Florentino. However, European rivals have been made aware that Real's Germany midfielder is now in play.

Manchester United and Inter Milan are also in contact with Real - and willing to go higher to convince Florentino to cash in.

However, the president is facing internal pressure to shut the door on any prospect of a sale. Coach Zinedine Zidane is adamant Kroos must not be sold - and has made his thoughts clear not only to Florentino, but also to the player in recent days.
