Man Utd Days away from signing Premier League star

Manchester United’s hopes of signing Kasper Schmeichel from Leicester City are growing as David De Gea continues to be linked with Real Madrid, according to reports in the British media. The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Leicester shot-stopper is being lined up as a replacement for De Gea should the Spanish goalkeeper seal a move back to his native homeland this summer.

The Red Devils are once again facing a battle to keep hold of their No1. Real Madrid have long chased the Spain international but appeared to end their interest heading into the summer transfer window.

However, the La Liga giants are now set to reignite their pursuit, with United bracing themselves for a bid. According to the Mirror, United believe an offer from Madrid for De Gea is imminent, making a move for Schmeichel increasingly likely.

United legend Peter Schmeichel has previously admitted it would be a ‘fantastic dream’ to see his son in goal for the Red Devils.
