Man Utd Agree to swap TWO players for Perisic

Manchester United are ready to trade defenders Matteo Darmian and Chris Smalling to land Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic. But manager Jose Mourinho has rejected Inter’s move to take Anthony Martial in a straight swap for Croatian star Perisic. Inter boss Luciano Spalletti is prepared to let 28-year-old, £47million-rated Perisic leave the San Siro but he wanted to get United’s £58m striker Martial in return, reports Daily Star.

The Serie A giants were keen on signing bringing Anthony Martial the other way, but United don’t want to lose a player they view as a future star. But Mourinho will allow Italian international right-back Darmian and England centre- back Smalling to join Inter in a swap deal. Darmian, who cost United £12.7m from Torino two years ago, could be of more interest to Spalletti, said to be chasing Real Madrid’s Brazilian right-back Danilo this summer.

Instead they’d rather lose a player such as Smalling, who could have become expendable after the arrival of Victor Lindelof at Old Trafford. Both Darmian and Smalling featured in United’s 5-2 win over LA Galaxy in the early hours of this morning.
