Chelsea Agree fee for Morata

Chelsea have smashed their transfer record to land Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata in a deal which could reach £75m. The Spaniard is set to undergo a medical in London, before signing for Antonio Conte's side. Chelsea will pay £75m for Morata with the striker expected to replace Diego Costa who has been told he is suplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge, reports Daily Star.

Morata told Marca:

“I am very happy, God willing, tomorrow I will be at Chelsea, a club that has always loved me.

“I’m not disappointed, for nothing, I've won four titles here, but now I only think of putting on the Chelsea shirt.”

Morata also sent a message to Real fans and is thankful for all of their support during his stay at the Bernabeu.

Morata, who is currently with Real on their training camp in Los Angeles, is expected to sail through his medical before putting pen to paper on a five-year deal worth around £150,000-a-week.

He will then join up with his new Chelsea team-mates on their tour of China and Singapore.

Chelsea have agreed to pay Real an initial £70m which could rise by a further £5m if performance related clause are met.
