Chelsea Agree bumper Deal to sign England International

Watford remain confident they will secure the signing of Chelsea midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah. The England Under-21 international is determined to leave despite being offered a new contract by the club. Swansea have entered the race for the 22-year-old, who has just one year left on his contract, reports Express.

Chelsea have offered the England Under-21 international a five-year contract to stay at Stamford Bridge. The new deal would take his wages from £45,000 to £65,000 a week, which would see him earn £17million over the five years.

Chelsea are said to be closing in on the signing of Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko - and pundit Alan Smith reckons his arrival will spell the end for Chalobah.

"Chelsea have nearly bought a central midfielder haven't they? Which is going to block Nathaniel Chalobah's path," he said.

"You're thinking he will probably have to leave. That goes right across the board with a lot of the boys."

Chalobah joined Chelsea's academy in 2005 from London rivals Fulham and has since been sent out on loan six times.
